What does it mean if I get a comm alarm?
A comm alarm is equipment specific meaning that it affects only the equipment that it refers to. This alarm is alerting the user that the network gateway interface is not receiving Modbus communication from the affected equipment. This can happen for a number of different reasons.
- The first check should be at the BP I/O. The Blue Pillar I/O Troubleshooting Guide can be used for reference. The I/O should be checked for power and ensure the wiring is correct polarity and securely in the terminal. The network status screen can also provide valuable information.
